Field Placement
– The end of the semester is fast
approaching and it will be time to turn in
your request for next semester and your
hours from this semester. The Deadline for
field placement request and hours is Friday,
June 6th. Be sure when turning
in your hours that all forms are signed and
the end-of-semester documentation is
attached. Also be sure to email Dante
Sweatt with your supervising teachers’ email
address so he can send them the information
needed to fill out the evaluations.

Volunteer Opportunity:
The Tutoring Program allows students to be
matched with tutors in reading, math,
writing, and ESL. The program operates on a
one-on-one basis, meaning that a volunteer
tutor will meet with the same student each
week throughout the semester or academic
year. Pairs meet for one hour a week here at
the Carnegie Center. Pairs will be matched
based on time availability and grade/subject
interest.
Books, games, activities, and other
resources are provided in the Carnegie
Center Tutoring Room. So... make a
difference in a child's life and help the
student accomplish his or her academic goals
over the course of your tutoring sessions.
The Tutoring Program is available
Mondays-Thursdays 3-7pm; Fridays 3-5pm; and
Saturdays 10am-2pm.
Tutors must commit to one hour per week. 45
minute orientation and completion of a
background check form are required before
beginning the program. Additional tutor
training sessions are provided several times
a year.

Requirements.

Computer-based Testing
Computer-based testing for the Praxis I®
Pre-professional Skills Test (PPST) is
offered continuously throughout the year.
You may take the computer-based test PPST
only once per calendar month, and no more
than 6 times within a 12-month period. This
applies even if you canceled your scores on
a test taken previously.
