Volunteer Opportunity:
The Tutoring Program allows students to be matched with tutors in reading, math, writing, and ESL. The program operates on a one-on-one basis, meaning that a volunteer tutor will meet with the same student each week throughout the semester or academic year. Pairs meet for one hour a week here at the Carnegie Center. Pairs will be matched based on time availability and grade/subject interest.

Books, games, activities, and other resources are provided in the Carnegie Center Tutoring Room. So... make a difference in a child's life and help the student accomplish his or her academic goals over the course of your tutoring sessions.

The Tutoring Program is available Mondays-Thursdays 3-7pm; Fridays 3-5pm; and Saturdays 10am-2pm.

Tutors must commit to one hour per week. 45 minute orientation and completion of a background check form are required before beginning the program. Additional tutor training sessions are provided several times a year.

This opportunity is sponsored by: Carnegie Center for Literacy and Learning

Volunteers will work with the following groups

Adolescents (13-17)

Children (5-12)
