Dates to consider:

 Undergrad Checkpoint Information for 2012

Easter Weekend – No SCD classes:  April 6th and 7th

Spring Checkpoint I and II portfolios due:  April 16th, no later than 5 p.m.

Spring Checkpoint I phone interviews held:  May 1st and 2nd, as needed (for those further than 50 miles away from Midway’s main campus or the Somerset off campus site).

Spring Checkpoint I and II face to face interviews:  May 3rd, starting at 6 p.m.

EDU 316 and EDU 317 Summer Methods on Midway Campus:  June 18th through June 29th

EDU 318 and EDU 319 Summer Methods on Midway Campus:  July 9th through July 20th

Summer Checkpoint II dates (for those student taking Methods classes this summer):

Summer Checkpoint II portfolios due:  July 8th, no later than 5 p.m.

Summer Checkpoint II interviews held:  July 17th, 18th, and 19th (as needed), beginning at 5:30 p.m.

 

SCD classes begin:  August 17th and 18th
Women’s College classes begin:  August 21st

Teacher Education Diversity Workshop (required of all Teacher Education majors):  Saturday, October 20th, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Thanksgiving Break – No SCD classes:  November 23rd and 24th
Women’s College classes end:  December 7th
SCD classes end:  December 7th and 8th

Who needs to go through it?

Checkpoint I
*For students who are in their first semester of EDU courses, or for those students who have not yet gone through Checkpoint I who are currently enrolled in EDU courses

Checkpoint II
**For students who plan on student teaching during the Fall 2012 semester

Checkpoint III
***For students who will be completing student teaching during the Spring 2012 semester

Requirements for Checkpoint I can be found on page 12.
Requirements for Checkpoint II can be found on page 14.
Requirements for Checkpoint III can be found on page 15.

The Kentucky School Personnel Code of Ethics (a requirement for Checkpoint I) is
located on page 22.

Questions related to your Checkpoint should be covered with your advisor. If you are unsure who your advisor is, please let me know.

Praxis Testing
Visit
www.ets.org if you are interested in taking the Praxis.

Praxis Computer-based Testing
Computer-based testing for the Praxis I® Pre-professional Skills Test (PPST)  and select Praxis II test are offered continuously throughout the year.

You may take the computer-based test PPST and Praxis II only once per calendar month, and no more than six times within a 12-month period. This applies even if you canceled your scores on a test taken previously.
