LiveText Electronic Portfolio System
Beginning with Students in EDU 201

All Students beginning in EDU 201 will be introduced to LiveText. LiveText is an Electronic Portfolio that Teacher Education students will use to complete their three checkpoints.

During the EDU 201 class, the EDU 201 professor:

Will distribute the required package (LiveText),

LiveText with Learn 360: Cost $100.00
(This fee is added into your tuition for the class)

The purchase provides access to LiveText for 5 years. The purchase is in the form of a packet, with a student account number.

  • LiveText is accessed 24-7 through the internet, using the student account number.

  • Student work is developed and stored in LiveText, starting with EDU 201:

o   Work may be developed in the LiveText word processor or developed offline as a document and attached in LiveText.

o   Midway LiveText will have templates with the instructions to complete major assignments, a format for presenting the work, and a rubric for assessing the work.

  • Students share specific assignments electronically with faculty for assessing. (Faculty receives free LiveText account numbers through the Teacher Education Office.)

  • Students prepare their required checkpoint portfolios (Entry to Teacher Education; Entry to Student Teaching; Program Completion) by selecting items they have stored in LiveText, adding them to the electronic portfolio and sharing these electronically with the Midway Teacher Education Review Team. (LiveText is replacing the traditional binder type portfolio.  You will not be preparing two types of portfolios, only the LiveText portfolio.)

  • Portfolios will be assessed and comments/results returned to students electronically.

  • The EDU 201 class will be showing you how to access LiveText, input information into LiveText, and share your work.  You will not be doing you portfolio in this class.

If you have additional question regarding LiveText please contact the Teacher Education Office at (859)846-5844.
