Certification
to teach students with mild to moderate disabilities
(learning and behavior disorders) is a dual certificate
program. Midway candidates complete either the
elementary or the middle school program and the
learning and behavior disorders program. The
LBD
program prepares
candidates for Kentucky
certification for Primary through Grade 12.
The curriculum guide sheet for LBD majors specifies five types of coursework, totaling approximately 130 hours for graduation:

general education courses as part of the baccalaureate degree requirements

core professional courses that all teacher education majors complete

the LBD coursework (30 hours, 21 non-duplicate with core professional courses)
