Teachers.Net

This site is a great site for current and student teachers (note I used this site a lot when I was teaching to come up with lesson plans).  It has 1000’s of lesson plans for every subject and grade level.  It has teacher classifieds where you can buy, sell and trade items related to teaching.  It also has message boards for teaching discussions and an area for job searching.  The site also contains articles from the teachers.net gazette which is a teacher support newsletter and it is free.

Teachnet.com

This is another website similar to teachers.net that offers teaching ideas, hints, tips, lesson plans, room ideas and an advice column for K-12 teachers.

Virtual LRC

The Virtual Learning Resources Center is actually a great general website that could cut across many different areas of study and not just education.  It is an information finding site, created by a librarian, for secondary school students and teachers; it gives easy access to pre-selected and evaluated information resources and it covers a wide variety of subjects.  It is both an index of over 10,000 web pages as well as a meta-search engine that includes information obtained from many of the best research portals and university and public library internet subject guides recommended by teachers and librarians.  It has information that can be used at both the school and university project level.

Wisconsin Center for Education Research

Provides a productive environment where the country’s leading scholars conduct basic and applied education research.  It has access to full text project publications, WCER working papers and WCER research highlights.
