ArtSource is a collection of resources on art and architecture.  It includes links to online art journals.  The site is not comprehensive, rather it is meant to showcase selected links.

This user supported site offers thumbnail pictures of artwork, articles on theory and criticism, and additional art links.  You can find artwork by artists' names or by genre.  Since this is a user supported site, banner ads, pop-up ads, and appeals for support are prevalent.

Artcyclopedia allows you to search or browse for information by artist's name, title of work, medium, or movement.  (The search box is toward the bottom of the page.)

This site sells art and art supplies but also has links to art news and contemporary portfolios.  Use the Art History database in the "in-depth art search" for information on non-contemporary artists.

Internet History Sourcebooks are collections of text that are in the public domain or for which permission to copy has been granted.  There are three major sourcebooks for Ancient, Medieval, and Modern History as well as subsidiary sourcebooks on topics such as African, Jewish, Islamic and women's history.

A limited area search engine for open access to academic philosophy on the internet. Includes a topical index of philosophical research online.

Resources for philosophical fields, movements and philosopher works.  It has a huge index with links to general philosophy resources, philosophers and their works, as well as links to other philosophy pages, philosophy journals and bibliographies.
